Naftali Touvia Besanson was born in Aix-les-bains, France in 1980. He moved with his family to Jerusalem in 1994 where he received his initial inspiration to create. Tuvia’s father, Yisrael Yitzhak Besanson an accomplished artist and Judaic Scholar had tremendous influence on Tuvia’s early interest in painting. Tuvia’s early works were influenced by the early works of Kandinsky, yet his progression was much to the credit of his father. Tuvia for the most part is self taught. His endless experiments with materials bring freshness to every work. Every scrap of material is a Creation by The Creator. Tuvia views each piece of material as a way of experimenting and expressing emotions both physical and metaphysical. An instantaneous inspiration can lock the artist in his studio for hours or days until he is able to put his pure thoughts to concrete media.
